Mobil 1™ is Oracle Red Bull Racing’s official lubricant partner. We supply the Formula One® team with Mobil 1™ racing oils while providing world-class engineering support throughout the race season.

A partnership built for the podium

As Oracle Red Bull Racing’s official lubricant partner, our advanced products support their high-powered RB18 race car, helping to enhance the hybrid turbo power unit’s performance.

Our dedicated Mobil 1 engineers strive to protect Oracle Red Bull Racing’s engine against the high temperatures reached at maximum performance. What we learn on the track is applied when developing Mobil 1 lubricants that protect the engine in your car.

A sport defined by extremes

Mobil 1 race lubricants are helping to make Oracle Red Bull Racing even faster, which further amplifies the extremes of every race. In Formula One, the drivers, race cars and lubricants are always pushed to their limits.

Ever wonder what 5 Gs feel like?

The latest Formula One race season brings new challenges. Wider tires + more aerodynamic downforce = more speed, more Gs and more stress on the drivers. Mobil 1 lubricant technology helps Oracle Red Bull Racing go faster, which means drivers Max Verstappen and Checo Perez must be stronger to withstand the increased physical demands of every race.

Grand Prix racing – the drivers

Max Verstappen and Checo Perez know that Mobil 1™ lubricants help to reduce friction and wear in all the moving parts of their cars. What does this mean to them? As they take on the current Formula One® season, it means more confidence in their cars, extra power in their hands, increased engine reliability on the track and more chances to find the podium.
Max Versatappen

Birth: September 30, 1997
Twitter: @Max33Verstappen

Max Verstappen joined Oracle Red Bull Racing in 2016 after a ballistic ascent through the ranks of motorsports. From the first time he drove a kart at the tender age of four-and-a-half, Max learned his trade well and, in his early teens, enjoyed a stellar career in regional and international karting, frequently punching well above his weight against more experienced rivals.

In his first eight races with Oracle Red Bull Racing, he achieved six top-five finishes, including four podiums. He is the youngest driver to lead a lap during a Formula One Grand Prix, the youngest driver to set the fastest lap during a Formula One Grand Prix and the youngest driver to win a Formula One Grand Prix. In 2019, Max finished his fifth Formula One season with three wins and nine podiums.

Checo Perez

Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez joined Oracle Red Bull Racing in 2021, achieving five podiums including a race win at the Azerbaijan GP. Checo began his karting career at just six-years-old and in his first season of competing took four race wins.

The highlight of Checo’s F1 career so far has to be his first career win at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix in Bahrain. Sergio was in last place at the end of the first lap after contact with another car, but he drove the perfect race to battle back through the field to P1!

Grand Prix racing – the car

A Grand Prix race car engine can rev up to 15,000 rpm. The motor oil endures temperatures of up to 300ºC/572ºF and the gearbox experiences up to 3,000 gearshifts per race. Our job isn’t easy under these circumstances. Mobil 1™ lubricants separate and cool more than 300 moving parts, withstand engine forces thousands of times greater than the force of gravity and protect against stresses generated from a car with a total output of more than 900 brake horsepower (bhp).

Grand Prix racing – the team

Oracle Red Bull Racing is one of the most successful teams in recent Formula One® history, winning 62 Grand Prix races, four Drivers’ and four Constructors’ World Championships in 15 seasons/years. The extensive knowledge and expertise needed to succeed in Grand Prix Racing fits perfectly with the Mobil 1™ team’s approach: It’s about clear thinking, extensive research, and a combined effort of technology and creativity.
Christian Horner OBE

Team Principal

Christian's path to the top rung of the Formula One management ladder began as a driver determined to race at the highest levels. Stints in Formula Renault, British F3 and Formula Two eventually led to him building his own Arden International race team into a junior motorsport powerhouse.

Three consecutive International Formula 3000 team championships from 2002-2004 brought him to the attention of Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz, and when the company took the radical step of setting up its own Formula One team in 2005, it turned to Horner to run the operation.

“Mobil 1 has been an iconic brand in Formula One for more than 30 years, and our partnership provides us with a unique opportunity to tap into ExxonMobil’s world-class expertise.”
Christian Horner, Team Principal of Oracle Red Bull Racing

Adrian Newey OBE

Chief Technical Officer

Having taken both Williams and McLaren to the heady heights of multiple title wins in the 1990s, when Adrian joined Red Bull Racing in 2006, his task was to help replicate that success. And he didn’t disappoint.

When a comprehensive aerodynamic rule change in 2009 presented designers with a blank canvas, Adrian and the team seized the opportunity and have since delivered four Formula One Drivers’ Championships and four Formula One Constructors’ Championships for Oracle Red Bull Racing.
